Note on Marginal Wells
Marginal wells are considered as those that produce less than 15 barrels of oil per day, produce 25 barrels a day, being >95% of total production is water or produce heavy oil with API gravity less than 20 degrees. U.S. has 457,000 marginal oil wells, which together produce 1.2 million per day (annual production). Thus, they account nearly 20% of the U.S. total oil production.
